A Bark Collar Quick Shopping Guide
If there’s one problem most dog owners share, it’s all that noisy barking. You could have a small toy dog or a Labrador, but the constant barking is a problem for both dog owner and neighbor alike. Do you own several dogs that bark at the slightest stimulus, and don’t know when to stop? Dog owners can have a lot on their plate, when it comes to their dogs. But there is a solution. A bark collar can get the job done?
How does a collar stop the dog from barking?
There are three bark-deterrent systems you can choose from - spray, ultrasonic, and static. When your dog barks, it triggers the collar into letting out a spray, an ultrasonic sound humans can’t hear (but which dogs can), or a perfectly safe low-voltage static shock.
Don’t worry, each of these systems do not harm your dog. The purpose of the collar is for your dog to link, by experience, the unpleasant disruption with his barking.
You’ll notice over time that your dog will be a barking a great deal less compared to when he was not wearing the no-bark collar.
Finding the collar that works
There are collars recommended for small, medium, and large dogs. The point is to get a collar that is fit - not overly big, not too tight. Since the device on the collar is a small box, it would be awkward for a small dog to be fit with a collar meant for a St. Bernard. Get the small one if your dog is small, medium if medium, and so on.
The collar that’s worth the money
Sometimes, dogs can be too playful.
That could mean the collar’s device could get scratched and bumped around.
Incidentally, your dog might turn the knobs and buttons on the device, if they are badly made, by his movements.
You also have a problem if the device, which triggers on the sound of your dog’s barking, can’t tell if the sound’s source is a dog or a loud, passing truck.
The result would be a dog that keeps on barking, since the deterrent is not consistent with the occurrence of the behaviour to be curbed.
Durability, Reliability, and Results
So, to sum up, a collar that fits your dog’s size, works well even when exposed to water, withstands getting jostled around, and can tell whether the loud sound is a bark or a truck passy by. One recommended item that fits all these criteria is the bark collar.
